Course terms and conditions

Last updated: October 17, 2026

These terms govern the HacksinCodigos online courses: lessons, labs, review questions, practice exams, the AI lab assistant and the certificate of completion. By creating an account or paying for a course, you accept them. They are short and written to be understood. If the Spanish and English versions ever differ, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Who we are

HacksinCodigos is a technology company based in Heredia, Costa Rica. Email us at administrador@hacksincodigos.com or message us on WhatsApp at +506 8942 8988.

2. We are not the certifying body

  • HacksinCodigos is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft or any other certifying body. Their names and the names of their certifications are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe the exam each course prepares you for.
  • A certification is granted only by the owner of the exam, when you pass the official exam. The exam fee (voucher) is not included in the course price and is paid separately to that organization or its testing provider.
  • Practice questions are original, written by HacksinCodigos from the public exam topics. They are not questions from the real exam.
  • No course guarantees that you will pass the official exam or get a job. The result depends on your study, your practice and the exam itself.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with your email and a 6-digit code we send you; there is no password. Use an email address that is yours and that you can access.
  • The account is personal. Courses are assigned to the person who owns the email address.
  • Only one session can be open at a time. If you sign in on another device, the previous session is closed and we let you know by email.
  • Keep your email secure: anyone with access to it can sign in to your account.

4. What you may and may not do

Buying a course gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use it during the access period. Therefore, you may not:

  • Share your account or access code with other people, or let several people use one account.
  • Copy, bulk-download, record, resell, publish or distribute the lessons, labs, questions or their answers, in any medium.
  • Use bots, scrapers or any automated means to read or store the content.
  • Try to bypass access controls, usage limits or the security of the site.

If we detect any of these uses, we may suspend or close the account's access. We will first email you to explain why, unless the case is serious or urgent.

5. Price and payment

  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and are a one-time payment: no subscription and no automatic charges.
  • Payment is made through PayPal (with a card or a PayPal account). HacksinCodigos never receives or stores your card details.
  • If your bank or PayPal converts the amount to another currency, the exchange rate and any fees are set by them, not by us.
  • In Costa Rica you can also pay by SINPE Móvil or bank transfer, converted to colones at the exchange rate of the payment date. The course is activated once we confirm the payment.

6. Access period

  • Access lasts 12 months from the payment date (Costa Rica time).
  • During that time you can sign in as often as you like, from any device, with the same email.
  • When access expires, the course lessons are locked again.
  • We may update, correct or reorganize the content, for example when an exam version changes. While your access is active we will not remove a substantial part of what the course offered when you bought it.

The «All courses for 1 year» bundle

  • What it includes: access to every course in the academy for 12 months from the payment date (Costa Rica time), including any new course we publish while that access is active. It costs $499 USD.
  • It is a one-time payment, not a subscription: it does not renew by itself and we never charge you again automatically. When it expires, you can buy it again if you want to keep going.
  • If you buy it again while your access to all courses is still active, the new 12 months are added to the date it was going to expire, not to the purchase date.
  • If you had already bought a course on its own, that access keeps its own date: the bundle never shortens it.
  • The same rules as for each course apply: personal account (section 3), license of use (section 4) and no refunds once access is activated (section 8).

7. Try before you buy

Before paying, you can evaluate the course for free: the first lesson is open in full, with its lab and review questions, and courses that have one offer a sample exam. Please use that trial to decide whether the course is right for you, because there are no refunds once payment is made (see the next section).

8. Refunds

  • The course is digital content that is activated immediately upon payment. Therefore, once payment is made and access is activated, no refunds are given, including for a change of mind or for not using the course.
  • By paying, you expressly request that access begin immediately and you accept that, for that reason, no refund applies once access has been activated.
  • Our errors: if you were charged twice for the same course, we return the duplicate charge. If a technical error on our side prevents you from using the course, we fix it and give you access; if we cannot, we return what you paid. This is not a change-of-mind refund: it is the correction of an error. Email administrador@hacksincodigos.com with your account email and the order number.
  • If a payment is reversed or refunded through PayPal or your bank (for example, a chargeback), the access granted by that payment is cancelled.
  • Nothing in this section limits any rights that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

9. Content ownership

The texts, lessons, stories, questions, labs, images and software of the courses belong to HacksinCodigos or are used with permission. Buying a course does not transfer any of those rights to you: it gives you the license described in section 4. Third-party trademarks mentioned belong to their owners.

10. The AI lab assistant

  • Some labs use an artificial intelligence assistant. Its answers can be wrong: check them before using them at work.
  • Do not type personal data, passwords or confidential information into it. The system blocks some sensitive data, but not sending it is your responsibility.
  • It has daily usage limits. If the assistant is unavailable, the lab keeps working with pre-written answers.
  • How those texts are handled is explained in the course privacy policy.

11. Responsible use of what you learn

The security and networking courses teach you how to protect systems. Practice only in the lab, on your own equipment or on systems you have written authorization to test. You are responsible for how you use what you learn outside the courses.

12. Certificate of completion

When you complete all the labs of a course you can download a HacksinCodigos certificate of completion. It states that you finished our course. It is not an official certification from any certifying body, nor an academic degree recognized by Costa Rica's Ministry of Public Education (MEP) or CONESUP.

13. Service availability

We do what is reasonable to keep the courses running at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or failures of outside providers (hosting, PayPal, email delivery). If a failure on our side keeps you from using the course for a significant time, contact us and we will compensate you with extra access time.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, HacksinCodigos's liability for any claim related to a course is limited to the amount you paid for that course. We are not responsible for official exam results, hiring decisions by third parties or indirect damages.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we update the date above. Changes apply to later purchases. A purchase already made is governed by the terms you accepted when paying, except for changes in your favor or required by law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, without prejudice to the consumer rights the law of your country gives you.

17. Contact
