Being the closest beach to the capital gives Jacó a rhythm no other beach town has: heavy national weekend traffic, long-stay foreign visitors, a busy rental and real estate market, restaurants, nightlife and tours.

The national visitor decides fast, often from the car on a Friday night, and wants price, availability and a WhatsApp button in the first five seconds. The foreign visitor plans weeks ahead, in English, and reads every review before paying a deposit.
